Chapter President David Anspach brought the meeting to order shortly after 1:00 pm, on Saturday, November 15, 2008, and immediately started by leading the pledge of allegiance, assisted by Chuck Huber. President Anspach then asked for a roll call of members present at meeting. The following chapter officers were present:

President David Anspach, Secretary John Carson, and Treasurer Eric Davis along with board members Tammy Anspach, and Janice snow.

The following chapter members were present:

Patti Ochi, Judy Wood, Vincent Mooring, Linda Saunders, Chuck Huber, Kim Ellsworth with daughter Kandice, Jim Ellsworth, Paul Prescott, Bonnie Prescott, Theresa Huffman, Debbie Hietala, and Chuck Hietala.

Secretary’s Note: 5 Board members and 12 chapter members were present at this meeting, which is enough to hold a quorum.

President Anspach then called on Secretary John Carson for the secretary’s report. John asked for any Additions, Comments, and/or Corrections at this time. Janice Snow made the motion that the secretary’s report be accepted as submitted, seconded by Eric Davis, motion carried.

President Anspach then called on Treasurer Eric Davis to give the treasurer’s report. Beginning balance in the general fund is $562.44. Deposits into the general fund from the Wine tasting and the picnic are $1,510.00. Expenses from the general fund are $474.75 to the St. Petersburg Lions Club, $266.00 for cost of wine, $26.75 to David Anspach to reserve shelter for next years picnic. Current balance in the general fund is $1,504.94. No activity in the Jill Carson Memorial Fund, so current balance is $1,305.89. John Carson made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report as submitted, seconded by Paul Prescott, motion carried.

Secretary’s Note: A $200.00 donation was made to the chapter at the picnic from the Seminole Lions club.

President Anspach then called on Debbie Hietala who spoke about the $200.00 donation from the Seminole Lions club, which she felt that a $100.00 donation to the FCB chapter would be in order since the Lions Club doesn’t know the difference between either blindness organizations. Debbie made this in the form of a motion seconded by chuck Hietala, followed by full chapter discussion, motion carried.

President Anspach then opened a full chapter discussion about our 2 fund raising events, the wine tasting and the picnic, which went on for quite a lengthy period. During this discussion chuck Hietala made a motion to take one half of the proceeds from the wine tasting and move it into the Jill Carson Memorial Fund, seconded by Linda Saunders, motion carried. The amount discussed was approximately $250.00.

President Anspach then opened a discussion about the scholarship the chapter sponsors with the state. Basically what came out of the discussion is that the chapter is going to wait and see what the state decides on the scholarships, because at the time of the meeting, they had no clue what was going to happen. Any decisions by the chapter were tabled for future meetings so that the chapter can fully discuss its participation in the future.

President Anspach then opened a discussion about a Vision teacher who has approached the chapter about a donation for a specialized walker for a student who is vision impaired and has multiple disabilities. A full discussion by the chapter followed. Chuck Hietala made a motion at this time approving David Anspach to make the decision for a $250.00 donation for this specialized walker if information provided meets requirements, seconded by Janice Snow, and John Carson, motion carried.

President Anspach then called on Janice Snow for the Sunshine/Expanding Horizons committee report. John Carson reported to Janice and the chapter the reason the Carlisle’s were not at the meeting, is because Scott had an issue the previous evening with his Glaucoma, and that Virginia had injured herself requiring surgery for a hernia. Janice then moved on to asking the chapter if they wanted her to get someone from the Yellow cab to come and speak to the chapter. Janice stated she would attempt contact with bill Peterson to see if he could come out and speak to the chapter. Chuck and Debbie Hietala also brought some CD’s from a future puppy raiser who works for AT&T that has the yellow pages for Pinellas and Hillsborough counties.

President Anspach then called on Debbie Hietala to speak about the Art museum Event on December 7, 2008, a full chapter discussion followed.

President Anspach then opened a discussion on the upcoming chapter Christmas party to be hosted by Chuck and Debbie Hietala. President Anspach then opened a chapter discussion about the 2009 state convention. A full discussion followed.

President Anspach entertained a motion to adjourn at 2:50 pm.

Respectfully Submitted
